The book gives the general theory of active cascades operation which allows solution of development and analysis of various level amplifiers, frequency converters, multipliers etc.

On base of the theory set in the book the problems of temperature and mode stability of cascades operation are solved.

The most part of the edition is devoted to examination of main non-linear (such as blocking and mutual modulation) and noise characteristics of receiving devices input path cascades: high frequency amplifier and mixer.

On base of the idealized cascade model maximum capabilities of amplifiers and mixers by dynamic range are defined. Theoretical research of mutual modulation blocking conditions is made. The analytic form for dynamic range of real cascades is received. The optimal operation modes are defined in which dynamic capabilities of the indicated cascades are realized completely.

Heterodyne noises influence on receiving devices is considered.

Theoretical bases of engineering cascades account of receiver input path developed.
