Alexander Yakunin Participated in Engineering Union Meeting Chaired by Vladimir Putin

Alexander Yakunin, Director General of the JSC Concern Sozvezdie (member of Ruselectronics United Holding), has participated in an extended meeting held by the Bureau of the Russian Engineering Union and the Bureau of the League for Assisting Defense Enterprises chaired by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The key issue of the meeting was “The agenda of home industry development: community view”.

The meeting was also visited by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade, Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy PM of the Russian Federation, Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation and Chairman of the Russian Engineering Union, Vladimir Gutenev, First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for economic policy, industry, innovative development and entrepreneurship, the representatives of various Ministries and Institutions, and the members of the Bureau of the Russian Engineering Union and the Bureau of the League for Assisting Defense Enterprises.

When opening the meeting the President stated, that in recent years the majority of machine-building plants had adapted to external constraints and other difficulties, focusing their resources on high-priority directions. “We hold traditionally strong positions in military machine-building. In the past years its manufacturing capacities have been modernized, the focus is on diversification and expansion of the range of high-tech civil-purpose products. As a result, the output of military goods in the military industrial complex grew by 9.5% last year whereas the output of civil-purpose goods went up by almost 17%,” – stressed the President of Russia.

In his speech Sergei Chemezov said that bringing in new resources into companies’ human resource pools was one of the key trends forming the agenda of industry development.

In his turn Vladimir Gutenev added, that the most pressing question for the companies still concerned the access to competitive loan resources. The First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union suggested to provide real productions with an access to the loans with an efficient interest rate at the rate of inflation no more than 4%. “In this case the enterprises would be able to get the necessary financing for the purposes including production diversification and modernization, and expansion on the foreign market,” – summed up Gutenev.

At the end of the business program the participants defined the measures for the further development of home industry.
